Ok, so you've seen us around the community lately. You might have checked out our website a few times.
Doorganics is a local West Michigan online grocery service for families, friends, and food-lovers alike. We offer members free delivery of organic produce and the highest quality, locally sourced staples including: pasture-raised meats and farm eggs, local baked goods, cheeses, non-gmo snacks and more!
Owner Mike Hughes founded Doorganics in July 2011, when he was motivated to create a healthy, local food source option that would fit his busy lifestyle. The Grand Rapids company launched with a website, a borrowed delivery van, and one local farm partner. Since then, Mike & the Doorganics team has grown the startup into a thriving local business.
The Doorganics Team: We're proud to have a talented and passionate crew working hard to bring members the best service possible.
Here are some ways Doorganics helps save you time & money:
It’s happens to all of us. We go to the store with a list and the best intentions. Then, bam! We walk out with a cart full of stuff and still nothing to make for supper! With Doorganics you have less trips to the grocery store so less impulse buys.
Have you ever bought a pack of berries from the grocery store only to get home and find the bottom half is not good? Or bought something that looked delish but within a day it was bad? Drat, I hate that. Not something you have to worry about with Doorganics. With us you can rest assured that your produce comes to you in tip top shape. And, if something happens to slip passed us then all you have to do is send us an email and we will make it right with you straight away. We’re cool like that.
Enjoy competitive pricing and fresh weekly sales. Also, you receive discounts for referring friends!
If time equals money, buying online will definitely help you save. No more wandering the aisles or tracking down a store employee for help.
If you have something in the house to cook you are less likely to jet out to eat or go through the drive through. You may not always feel like cooking, but when you know you’ve got a box arriving tomorrow, that can be the incentive you need to do something with the remaining produce from your previous delivery. Plus, let’s face it… getting produce delivered is exciting. I have no idea why getting our produce delivered makes us want to eat it more than going to the store and picking it up, but it does. Our customers say they are excited to figure out what to cook and use up their produce. Eating out is expensive, the less you do it the more you save!
Customizable Bins: When you create your account, you'll choose your delivery size. You can choose a mixed produce box, all fruit, or all veggies. The Thursday before your delivery we'll send out an email letting you know that your customized menu has been created based on what's fresh, delicious, local, or in-season. This is your chance to login and swap out the items you might not care for. Don't forget to shop for local baked goods, meat, farm eggs, and more!
Need to take a break?: Manage your own schedule for up to 90 days in the future. Going on vacation? Suspend deliveries when you don’t need them. No Commitments: You’re free to temporarily pause orders, or cancel your membership at any time with no fees or risk. You are in complete control of your delivery schedule and there are absolutely NO commitments!
While most food comes from factory farms, grown with pesticides, antibiotics, hormones or created using genetically-modified organisms (GMOs), you can rest assured that the food in your Doorganics bin does not fall into any of those categories. Just real, natural food the way it was meant to be. What you do with it from there is up to you!
When you support Doorganics, you are supporting a small, West Michigan start up company & hard working, local employees. Not only that, but you are supporting local farmers and the whole community. Doorganics is dedicated to giving back and donates extra produce to God's Kitchen to help nourish the hungry in our community. To date, Doorganics has donated more than 20,000 pounds of fresh food to God's Kitchen in Grand Rapids. Watch this video and meet Farmer Jonathan from Lettuce Boy Farm in Belding, MI.
