Mike founded Doorganics in July 2011, when he was motivated to create a healthy, local food source option that would fit his busy lifestyle. The Grand Rapids company launched with a website, a borrowed delivery van, and one local farm partner. Since then, he's grown the startup into a thriving local business – and he's grown his family as well, marrying wife Emily in 2013 and welcoming daughters Jane & Josie into the world. With a degree from Michigan State University and professional experience running a family business, Mike loves working with a vibrant local team who's passionate about delighting customers with delicious food that's fresh from the farm. For Mike's musings on personal wellness, the challenges of running a company, and behind-the-scenes happenings at Doorganics, check out our BLOG.
Dan came on board in December of 2012 with a friendly, personable smile and the kind of customer service that shows he cares. He's a sports radio junkie who uses all that driving time to catch up on the latest happenings. Dan's incredible memory lets him keep track of sports stats, as well as (ahem) those special customers who owe him a green bin -- all in good fun, of course.
David's passion for local food culture makes him a natural fit on the Doorganics team. He grows plenty of his own food and works hard to eat local year round. David loves the outdoors, shares his latest fishing pictures when asked, and backpacks the Pictured Rocks National Park Trail (40-plus miles!) annually. He joined the team in January of 2015.
Matt joined Doorganics as a driver in February of 2015, but he quickly showed that he has a mind for marketing and business development. Now he splits his time on the team and lends a hand wherever he's needed, whether it's packing bins or delving into Internet marketing strategies. When he's not at work, Matt enjoys playing basketball with his buddies.
Though Adam spends the bulk of his time at Doorganics carefully sourcing your produce, he's a man of many talents. Adam plays in the local bluegrass band, Faux Grass, as well as teaches music lessons to area kids. He's also been known to change the brakes on the delivery vans and can be counted on to keep the maintenance in check. Adam joined the team in December 2014, and he enjoys spending time outdoors with his son in his free time.
Since coming on board in March 2014, Caitlin has done it all, from packing to inventory control to driving delivery vans. She's a true team player. These days, she's using her degree in photography from Kendall College -- Caitlin is the talent behind our delicious food pics! When she's not at Doorganics, Caitlin enjoys spending time up north with family.
With a passion for cooking and a penchant for trying new restaurants, Kayleigh is the perfect person to create the deli sides and meal kits Doorganics is proud to offer alongside our produce. When she's not at work, Kayleigh and her husband enjoy traveling and drinking good wine. She joined the team in August 2014.
Erin's the brains behind the blog recipes we share regularly, and we're lucky she's a talented chef who has an eye for Instagram photography. Since joining the team in July 2013, she's helped spread the word about Doorganics in the community. Erin and her husband enjoy weekends at the lake, supporting local food businesses, and making their own sausages.
Max joined the team in January 2016. Not only is he a friendly and cautious delivery driver, but he knows his stuff about produce too! Max grew up in Freemont on his families 150 year old fruit farm. In his free time, Max goes home to help his parents on the farm and also enjoys playing shows around Michigan with his band. Max is a talented guitarist.
